Shuswap Lake is a very popular year round recreation destination located in the interior Columbia Mountain region of British Columbia, Canada. The lake system is shaped like the letter "H" consisting of two developed southern arms (Shuswap Lake Main Arm and Salmon Arm ) and two undeveloped upper arms (Anstey Arm and Seymour Arm). All four arms meet at Cinnemousun Narrows, northeast of Sicamous, BC.

The popular lake destination is serviced by series of waterfront communities. The main communities of Chase, Sorrento and Blind Bay are located on the shores of the Shuswap Lake Main Arm. While the communities of Tappen, Salmon Arm and Sicamous rest on the shores of the Salmon Arm of the Shuswap Lake system.

The lake consists of over 1400 kilometres of shoreline revealing numerous sandy beaches, private bays, hidden coves, marine parks, estuaries, hiking trails, pictographs, day use parks, boat launches and campgrounds. The lake has several feeder rivers in each arm but only one outlet, Little River, which flows from the Shuswap Lake Main Arm to Little Shuswap Lake.

Shuswap Lake is one of the most popular lake destinations in British Columbia, Canada. During the summer months people enjoy boating, fishing, hiking, camping, swimming, canoeing, snorkeling, scuba diving, birdwatching, wind surfing, sailing, mountain biking, cycling, water skiing, kayaking, horseback riding and houseboating. Shuswap Lake supports the largest houseboat fleet in Canada!

In the winter months, after the snow has fallen and the temperatures have dropped, the trails turn white and the lakes freeze over creating a winter wonderland popular for cross country skiing, snowshoeing, snowmobiling and ice fishing.
