| Paska
Lake
is a small recreation lake resting in the wilderness
back country regions found a few kilometres east of the community
of Logan Lake, British Columbia, Canada. Paska Lake is located
just east of the Wyse Lakes Recreation Area near Chuwhels Mountain.
The lake is a very popular summer destination.
On the shores of the small lake is a wilderness forestry campground
with a day use area, pit toilets and a roof top boat launch. A
few metres away is a set of picnic tables, mostly exposed to the
sun, fronting the lake providing the best views.
The lake attracts people to the park for the fishing,
camping, swimming, picnicking, canoeing and boating. The lake
is very central to other popular activity destinations in the
immediate area. Nearby, Face Lake is another
draw to the area. Then there is Chuwhels Mountain. A mountain
destination layered in trails accessed mostly by dirt bikes, atvs,
horseback riders and hikers.
The Wyse Lake Recreation Area is also another
recreation destination for hikers and mountain bikers in the region
during the summer. In the winter months, after the snow has fallen,
the trails become routes for snowmobiles and cross country skiers.
The region around Paska Lake is littered with recreational
lakes. Too many to list here. But.. here is a short list of some
of the other lake destinations in the region to make note of including
Wyse Lakes, Roper Lake, Face Lake and Dominic Lake.
Fishing, boating, camping and canoeing is the big
draw at Paska Lake and many of the other lakes. It is common to
see boats trolling for some rainbow trout in the spring and fall
seasons on Paska Lake. It is said the trout reach a weight of
2 lbs here.
